Screech Owls prefer abondoned woodpecker holes or neglected nests. They will readily take boxes lined with an inch or so of wood shavings. Our house is all Cedar with a 3 inch opening, vented and features a side clean out panel. Suggested mounting height: at least 15 feet up on a tree trunk.
